"How far would you fall for the truth?"
Jem Halliday is in love with her gay best friend. Not exactly ideal, but she's learning to live with it.
Then the unspeakable happens. Kai is outed online...and he kills himself.
Jem knows nothing she can say or so will bring him back. But she wants to know who was responsible. And she wants to take them down...
I wasn't planning on blogging about this.
Not at all.
But it's 2:11am and I've just finished reading Undone by Cat Clarke.
I never would have even read it if it wasn't for the review done by Jess at Dungarees and doughnuts!
Right so I just finished reading it.
I can't do book reviews to save my life so I'm not gonna do one. I'm just gonna talk... while trying not to spoil anything for anyone.
This book is .. well.. it's well written for sure.
I spent most of the book actually disliking Jem, the main character, quite a bit.
She reminded me of the reason as to why I disliked the unpopular people (lol) .. so damn judgemental of the popular people .. like dude, they are people just like everyone else -_-
Ok I was like that at one point too shush people grow up
The ending is quite possibly the meanest ending ever. I just can't go to sleep right now.
The ending.. It was what I wanted but also not? I really grew to like all the characters to be honest. The ending was.. an ending. The first page of chapter 59 is what did it for me. Duuuude the ending.
The main storyline for the book though? Totally predictable, I do a thing where I guess who's the culprit and I got it right.
Retail £6.99 Amazon £5?
Totally worth a read.
Took about 5 hours to read over the course of 2 days.
Kinda wish I'd gotten it for my kindle instead of getting the actual book...
